Idox Unimap Web

Hi All

I have a query in relation to Idox Unimap Web.

It is my understanding that Idox Unimap Web does not support shapefiles in relation to constraints layers and only supports WFS (web feature services) layers, so is anyone using Earthlight to consume their constraint layers as WFS layers and have this working successfully in Idox Unimap Web and if so, would they be willing to share the information on how they are doing this and how they set this up?

Thanks

Steven

Hello, Steven.

We’ve implemented Transactional WFS (WFS-T) for other third party systems. We are in touch with IDOX about this very matter, and will sort something out with them and get back to you on this with details.

Kind regards,

Gordon

Hi Gordon

Is there any update on this?

Thanks

Steven

Hello, Steven.

Apologies for the delay in replying.

Yes, there is an update: Earthlight now supports GeoJSON WFS output which works fine with ESRI AGOL. As the Unimap Web client is based on ESRI web technology, we assume that this should resolve the issue. Technical support will be in touch to arrange for an update of your environment.

Hi Gordon,

I don’t suppose you know if this has been achieved? and if there are any instructions? we’re just getting errors when we try to add a wfs to Unimap web? we upgraded Earthlight to the latest version. The WFS works when I open it in other systems, but not UniMap web.

Regards

Ian

Hello, Ian.

I hope that you’re well.

Funnily enough, yesterday we had a conference meeting with IDOX developers to discuss this very topic.

We have now agreed with them that they will fix this problem once and for all. Our development team is now working with them to ensure that their Unimap web client can consume Earthlight’s OGC-compliant WFS.

Work is now on-going. It should be resolved very shortly.

As soon as it is, we’ll let everyone know.

Many thanks again.

Kind regards,

Gordon

Hi All, This is encouraging. I wonder if this will also fix the ongoing issue we’ve had with IDOX Cloud not being able to publish or consume a WFS feed with their planning and land charges modules? IDOX said the ‘fix’ put out a year ago would resolve this issue, but it hasn’t and the incident we raised (Ref: IDXIN00623646) nearly 6 months ago now, still hasn’t been addressed with a poor response from IDOX from our chase emails. We were going to escalate this problem, but I’ll hold on for now to see what comes of this latest work. Many thanks, Lee

Hi Gordon

We were advised by IDOX that in order to upload our georeferenced raster images to Unimap Web that we would need to do this via hosting the raster images on a GIS server. We have done this in Earthlight and it has created a WMS URL on our GIS Server, but our GIS Server will need to be configured so that Unimap Web can access the WMS URL, so does the WFS problem also affect the WMS and we will need to wait until the WFS problem is resolved so that Unimap Web can access the WMS URL?

Thanks

Steven

Hi Gordon

Are you able to provide a response to the query I have raised above?

Thanks

Steven
